Who We Are:

Amidst the peaceful Flint Hills of Kansas stands the Historic Elgin Hotel, Kansas’ finest fully-renovated

boutique hotel and restaurant. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Elgin's 19th century

limestone building provides a unique venue to rest, relax and reconnect in an atmosphere that blends

the nostalgia of the past with the luxuries of today. A full-service, made-from-scratch restaurant, in

addition to five living rooms, an outdoor verandah, a fitness center, and a game lounge, compliment

twelve unique suites to create an exceptional getaway. Private ensuite bathrooms, jacuzzis, and Smart

TVs as well as complimentary Wifi, in-room refrigerators, docking stations, and plush robes and slippers

make a stay at the Elgin an unforgettable experience for its guests. The hotel also boasts an elegant

Victorian ballroom, conference room and courtyard where events, weddings, celebrations, and meetings

are hosted.

Located inside the Historic Elgin Hotel in the Flint Hills of Kansas is Parlour 1886, a fine dining establishment serving up American classics in a nostalgic atmosphere.

About the Owners:

Jeremy and Tammy Ensey, who purchased the hotel in 2016, are originally from the Wichita, Kansas

area. Jeremy grew up in Valley Center and attended Tabor College and then Wichita State University to

attain a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Jeremy went on to attend Friends University to earn his

Executive Masters of Business Administration. After spending 20 years in Nursing at Via Christi, Galichia

Heart Hospital and then HCA Wesley, Jeremy accepted a position at St. Luke Hospital in Marion, Kansas where he served 1.5 years as a Chief Nursing Officer and 10 years as the Chief Executive Officer. In 2023, Jeremy left St. Luke to teach business and entrepreneurship classes at Tabor College.

Tammy grew up on the west side of Wichita and attended Goddard High School. She went on to earn a

Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration and in Christian Ministries from Friends University. Following college, she worked at Cintas Corporation as a Marketing Director, Coleman Evcon in Human Resources, and finally Koch

Industries in Human Resources and Information Technology. In 2000, Tammy began her work in the

travel industry by starting Vacation Gateway. After giving birth to their first child, Tammy left Koch to

work part-time running the travel business and overseeing operations for the Flint Hills Center for Public

Policy, now known as the Kansas Policy Institute.

The Enseys moved to Marion, Kansas in 2013 for Jeremy’s career opportunity at St. Luke Hospital &

Living Center. Three years following this move, Tammy chose to expand her travel operations by

purchasing the Historic Elgin Hotel and reopening it as a hotel to the public.

Jeremy & Tammy have three children, Peyton, Paige and Abree. Peyton is attending Wichita State

University and studying Mechanical Engineering. Paige attends Kansas State University where she studies Animal Science. Jeremy, Tammy, and Abree continue to reside on a 25-acre historic farm outside of Marion and Abree attends Berean Academy.
