Why Visit Kansas?
THE STATE OF KANSAS
In Kansas, we love fast cars and slow-cooked brisket. We touch the sky but stay grounded in the things that matter most. We live out loud and embrace the solace of silence. We conquer rocks and celebrate on the rocks. We ride like the wind and live for the water. The Kansas experience is a salute to the real. To the rowdy. To the wide-eyed wanderers. To the dreamers. To the stars.
What Our Guests Say
- A Delightful RenovationEverything was in place, with a delightful renovation. Simple online reservation process, check in was welcoming, and our room was spacious and well decorated. Loved the theme, and the local/regional books in our room. Open spaces were many, and also very inviting. Bed and breakfast family feel, with all the privacy of a boutique hotel that we could want.
- Found this Beautiful GemCame up from Miami to visit my dad for a few days and found this beautiful gem. The hotel is stunning and has wonderful vibes. Everyone from the staff to other guests were extremely friendly. You can tell the pride and dedication put into this hotel. The staff does an incredible job at keeping this place clean and making sure you are taken care of. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.
- Perfect In Every Way!It's difficult to find enough superlatives to describe how wonderful this hotel is. The architecture, furnishings and appointments could not be more perfect. Every detail, from the decor to how the towels are arranged in the bathroom have been thought through and carefully attended to - it is hospitality at its finest. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the salons and kitchens on each floor afford a relaxed and spacious atmosphere. As someone who travels both professionally and for leisure over 200 days per year, I can't say enough good things about this property - it is a rare and delightful gem.
- Finer Things from another EraFrom the minute you walk in, you feel transported to another era of 'the finer things', including well-appointed, colorful rooms, luxurious soaps and linens, peaceful reading nooks and verandas. The restaurant is beautiful and offers a variety of dinner options, full bar, and complete breakfast for those who choose. The staff is warm and friendly. The town is quaint and boasts great antiquing, a marvelous county museum and beautiful public spaces. Marion--and the Elgin--is one of our favorite getaways when we are in the area. Thank you!
- Most Amazing ExperienceThis is by far the most amazing experience I have had with any hotel. Very clean, beautiful hotel with service that surpassed all high end hotel chains. I highly recommend the Elgin to any of you who are looking for an outside of the box stay. We will definitely be visiting again from Iowa.
- Treated like royalty! If you want to be swept away and feel like you are being treated like royalty, this is the place for you. I have never had any Hotel owner be as concerned and involved with the satisfaction of your stay as I was at the historic Elgin. Every room was immaculate, there was absolutely no smell, even though it's a historic hotel. Beds were comfortable, towels were fluffy. Just everything was absolutely perfect. If you want to have an experience of a lifetime stay here.
- The most magical day of my life!We got married at The Elgin and it was the most magical day of my life! The Elgin's staff make sure every detail is perfect. Our family rented out the hotel's third floor, and it felt so warm - like home! I can't wait to go back and experience the other luxurious suites that The Elgin has to offer!
- An authentic 1886 GemThe Elgin Hotel is a gem with its authentic quaintness from an 1886 hotel. The staff was timely and efficient from booking through our stay. We have been coming to Marion for many decades to stay at our family cabin on the County Lake. We have been hearing about the Elgin Hotel being a premier place to stay and we decided to check it out. Wow, we loved it. We really enjoyed the Elgin Memoir room on the third floor. It felt like we stepped back in history. My wife loved the sheets and was able to buy a set from the hotel. She was very happy!
